In this bold portrait by Tortora & Travezan, the focus of the portrait is shared by four shapes that are depicted along one smooth plane. The subject, with her porcelain skin and shining bronze hair, sits within the natural backdrop that contains violet and buttercup-yellow flowers.

The effect is a trompe l’oeil; where she appears to be reclining gently on a bed of giant flowers, the backdrop is flat and only the soft curls of her hair provide the dimensionality in this portrait.
