A refined, large porcelain punch bowl featuring an English fox hunting scene. The central decoration depicts an elegant 18th-century fox hunting scene with figures on horseback, set in a rural landscape with architecture that blends European elements with Chinese stylistic interpretations. It features riders in colorful jackets (pink and purple), horses in motion, and hunting dogs running in the foreground. The scenes are depicted both on the outside and inside of the bowl. The polychrome palette, dominated by pinks, greens, and warm hues, is executed with decorative finesse and creates a pleasing contrast with the depth of the cobalt blue and the brilliance of the gold.
The raised base (ring foot), also decorated in gold on a blue ground, lends momentum to the bowl’s hemispherical shape.
Inspired by export porcelain from the Qianlong period (Qing Dynasty, ca. 1760–1780).
The style is strongly reminiscent of the Famille Rose porcelain produced in China for the European market (Canton).
A quality control label is affixed to the base (Q.C. No. 2B-18869), typical of products destined for the luxury furniture and modern decorative collectibles market.
