David Shrigley, born in Macclesfield in 1968, is a British artist based in Brighton. Having graduated from the Glasgow School of Art in 1991, Shrigley has since gained international recognition for his distinctive drawings, sculptures, and text-based works. Known for his dark humour and deliberately crude style, Shrigley explores the absurdities of everyday life with wit and sharp social commentary. A 2013 Turner Prize nominee, his work has been exhibited globally.

David Shrigley, 1968 in Macclesfield geboren, ist ein britischer Künstler, der in Brighton lebt. Nach seinem Abschluss an der Glasgow School of Art im Jahr 1991 hat Shrigley seitdem internationale Anerkennung für seine unverwechselbaren Zeichnungen, Skulpturen und textbasierten Werke erlangt.
