Chiara Santoro, Won, Digital Collage, 2018

Won is a beautiful print on canvas of a digital collage realized by the Italian artist Chiara Santoro. Edition of 10. Hand-signed and numbered. This word is not English, but has Korean origins and defines the difficulty of a person in giving up an illusion. This is what the artist wants to represent when he thinks of the artistic world: the illusion of reality that paintings can give, reproducing images of life in a detached format that can be reinterpreted and modified. Art is the reproduction of life, it is illusion in a parallel world that has its own soul. Art looks to man as man looks to art.
